ONA Masterclass Articles

I'm getting ready to do an ONA Startup for a client who's bringing ONA in-house as a part of their KM toolkit. Bruce Hoppe and I are teaming on the project, which should help us get ready for our ONA Workshop at KMWorld this fall. (See Below)

This got me thinking that I should have posted the PDFs for a series of Masterclass Articles I wrote for Inside Knowledge some time ago. You can find them on my web site's download page.

Workshop 19 — Organizational Network Analysis (ONA)
1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday, October 30
Patti Anklam,
Hutchinson Associates
Bruce Hoppe, President & Founder, Connective Associates LLC

This half-day workshop introduces the concepts and tools of ONA. It articulates the business uses of ONA, describes actual cases in which ONA proved useful in a KM context; identifies the methods and tools that are in the ONA toolkit; distinguishes between social networking analysis (SNA), ONA, and social software; and discusses how to leverage social networks in organizations to enhance knowledge flows. Using real-world examples, speakers make the case for using ONA in your organization and provide a step-by-step process for implementation.

I'm also at the speaker's podium twice on Tuesday. In the morning, Bruce and I will talk about Tools for Network Analysis; in the afternoon my partner, Joe Hutchinson, and I will relate our experiences helping corporations pilot and get started with collaboration software (eRoom and SharePoint).
